Information for Study Participants

Who we are and what we do

We are a contract research organisation specialising in the  Glycemic Index testing of commercial food products.

Glycemic Index testing is a measure of how quickly blood sugar levels rise after eating particular foods. As a study participant you will be asked to come to GINZ research centre from 6:30 in the morning after a 10-hour overnight fast. Your fasting blood glucose is measured by fingerpick. You will then be asked to consume the test food. Following consumption, your blood glucose will be measured again after 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 & 120 minutes to determine the blood glucose response of the test food.

Testing days are scheduled and you will be informed through emails and text messages.

Who we are seeking to participate in the studies and what we are offering

To measure the GI of a food, human volunteers are needed. We are seeking individuals:

  • between 18-65 years old
  • non-diabetic, no chronic disease
  • no known allergies or intolerances
  • not pregnant nor lactating
  • generally healthy with normal BMI
  • available from 6:30 to 8:30AM on scheduled testing dates

Our research centre provides participants with a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. After each  2-hour GI testing session, you are free to stay for coffee, tea and breakfast bars or snacks. We provide grocery vouchers for each testing session in recognition of the reasonable costs on participating in our studies. For more information email us at info@ginzresearchcenter.com
